The Shutterbug Award has become one of the most sought after awards in Australia for up and coming photographers. It is the culmination of The Shutterbug Photography Festival, which gives all photographers, at all levels, the chance for their work to be seen.
The submission requirement of 15-35 images in a theme of their choosing is designed to encourage excellence across a body of work rather than a single image.
Proudly supported by Olympus, the annual Shutterbug Award night is a huge VIP event held in Sydney each year. It’s fast become a must see event on the photographic calendar, and with it, an unequaled opportunity for photography lovers and art supporters alike to be introduced to the work of gifted and emerging artists. Part of the prize package of over $10,000 is a print each for the ten finalists, kindly supplied by DigitalWorks online printing.
These prints are one small snapshot of a larger story from each winning photographer and these prints will be on exhibition with the support of The Archetype Gallery, Chauvel Cinema.
