In May 2006, Rachel Jordan, a performing and visual artist and Stefan Auimatagi von Reiche, a visual artist founded The Archetype Gallery, also known as The A Gallery. Formerly situated in a 250sqm warehouse in the Sydney CBD, the A Gallery a contemporary artist run art space featured an eclectic body of works from national and international artists.

In 2010, The Archetype Gallery moved from it's fixed location and instead facilitates the exhibition of works in unique and unusual spaces, in which collectors can discover new works by emerging and mid-career artists.

We try to think outside the square when it comes to exhibiting space and seek to "bring the art to the people". So, in 2010, The Archetype Gallery Concept Spaces (T.A.G.C.S) was created.
