The Archetype Gallery, also known as 'The A Gallery,' is a contemporary art gallery based in Sydney, Australia and established in May 2006 by founders Rachel Jordan, a performing and visual artist, and Stefan Auimatagi von Reiche, a visual artist.
Already home to an eclectic body of works from national and international artists, the Archetype Gallery is dedicated to the promotion of emerging and mid-career artists working in a variety of media who are building their career or have just recently graduated from Art Schools. We are an artist-run gallery and seek to provide an engaging space in which collectors can discover emerging artists.
The gallery is located within its sister business, the Hi Rise Centre for the Arts, on the sixth floor of a heritage building, in the heart of Sydney CBD. Hi Rise Centre for the Arts is the first and only one of its kind in Australia. We are an integrated arts centre host to the teaching of various arts-related disciplines as well as hosting arts/cultural events.
