Gennady Veremeenko

He studied painting and graphic design from recognised painter David Gornstain who was a one of the members of famous South Russian -Romanian Fine Art School. The lessons continued for 6 years, until Veremeenko was a student of Art Design and Polygraphic school. Veremeenko works in different styles of painting and drawing. His fascination with arts and craft led him to the stage art decoration. He decorated stages for many plays in number of theatres across Russia. Working with the Laboratory of Young Artist of Western Siberia and Far East, he studied the history of theatrical costumes and design and participated in painter exhibitions. He illustrated posters for the plays of Calderon and Pushkin, which were acquired by Bachkrusin’s Museum of Theatre in Moscow. Veremeenko also produced illustrations to books which were published in Russia and recently in Australia.

Paintings and drawings are held in private collections in Russia, Israel, England, United States and Australia. Veremeenko has resided in Sydney, Coogee, since 2003 and is inspired and influenced by the beauty of Australia's natural environment, working in creating landscapes in watercolour, acrylic and soft pastel.
