Mimi Monet.
"Creating modern art and painting allows me to explore various feelings and emotions by playing with the blending of paint and using the impact of bright colours and strong graphical movements...I find inspiration in Colour itself, simply by looking at the world around me: the aqua blues and greens from the stunning views of Bondi Beach or Maroubra, the earthy reds and yellows from the deserted outback, the vivid and luscious greens from tropical forests in Queensland, the amazing lights of Sydney city at night...
My work is abstract, discreetly hinting at the subject that was on my mind, or at the mood I was in while painting.
To me, each painting is a ‘window into the mind’ where the viewer is invited to let their imagination run free... It’s always surprising to hear what people see in my paintings, things that are quite often different to what I see. My work has always been true to itself, never pretending to be something it isn’t. I create it because it makes me feel happy and alive and it exists simply to be enjoyed freely by everyone and without prejudice. I try to carry my joy of living and creating and my love of colour and the ocean through my painting classes but also through my handmade jewellery and custom surfboard designs.”
