Stefan Auimatagi von Reiche is a Samoan born contemporary artist. Also, a photographer, sculptor, painter and writer. Stefan's works are held at the Ward Nasse Gallery, Soho, New York and The Archetype Gallery, Sydney. Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of Auckland New Zealand. Exhibitions: Samoa, American Samoa, Sydney and New Zealand. Collections: Frankfurt, Auckland, New York, Samoa, Atlanta, Sydney. Co-ordinated a group workshop for Contemporary Indigenous Artists at the 7th South Pacific Festival of Arts, at the MADD Gallery, Samoa 1996. Represented Samoa, in a group forum/workshop for Contemporary Indigenous Artists of Oceania & the Pacific, Rotorua, New Zealand. Performancing arts include; Butoh dancer in MAU Dance Company, Samoa and Auckland NZ. Performance installation at The Performance Space, Sydney. Published articles: 1997 edition of Art Asia Pacific, –titled ‘Back to Basics’. Co-founder of The Archetype Gallery and Director of the Ata Fotographics studio.
